    The Supreme Court will hear today the petitions seeking to cancel the NEET UG 24 exam for paper leak and other malpractices.

    A bench comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra will hear the matters at 10.30 AM.

    On the previous date (July 18), the Court directed the NTA to publish the centre-wise results, to ascertain if there is any abnormal spike in performance in centres, especially the centres where paper leak is suspected.

    The bench also indicated that it is likely to conclude the matter today

      CJI : Out of 61, 44 are those who got grace marks.

      Hegde :For two options for one questions. That also means those 44 got marks for getting 179 questions right. That is also a high figure.

      Hegde : CBI investigation is not confined to Patna, it is coverning multiple states. The investigator has not come to any conclusion that it was a localised leak.

      Hegde : NEET is also used as a qualification. If you are qualified for NEET, you are not just qualified for govt seats. Many foreign countries also accept NEET. So 164 cut-off, which turns to about 13 lakhs, have all of them been judged with a fair standard?#SupremeCourt #NEET

      Sr Adv Hegde : Admittedly there has been a leak from Hazaribagh. It was caught at Patna. We do not know today where all it leaked. Investigation reports say some of the messages went to about 100 people.

      Hegde : We do not know about the extent of the leak. Timing of the leak, there is some certainty that it did not happen on the morning of 5th. It happened at least on the night of May 4th or prior to that.

      Hooda : In so far as leak is concerned, Sanjeev Mukhya is a gangster, who is yet to be arrested. Solvers were taken from Rajasthan. Dissemination was through WhatsApp. It is not possible that the leak is confined to Patna.
