    The Supreme Court will hear today the petitions seeking to cancel the NEET UG 24 exam for paper leak and other malpractices.

    A bench comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra will hear the matters at 10.30 AM.

    On the previous date (July 18), the Court directed the NTA to publish the centre-wise results, to ascertain if there is any abnormal spike in performance in centres, especially the centres where paper leak is suspected.

    The bench also indicated that it is likely to conclude the matter today

      Hegde : If these results stand, those post-date cheques can still be encashed. Somebody who got 720 ends up with 640 in the re-test.

      Hegde : It is only after questions were being asked, NTA responded. It was only after the Court started asking questions that the NTA started giving data.

      Hegde : NTA continued to be in denial and it is only as late as 22 June that changes are made in the personnel and CBI was put in charge of investigation.

      Hegde : NTA continued to deny the fact that there was a leak. NTA did not cooperate with the Bihar police. EOU wrote to the NTA but they did not immediately respond.

      Hegde : If the NTA had been a serious examination agency, it would have been most concerned about the integrity of the exam? What did they do? On the 5th itself when it has been told that the paper was leak, supposing they had taken a decision to scrap, would your lordships have found an outrageous defiance of logic in that situation? I am turning the question around.

      Hegde : Your lordships on this date do not know how many got into the system. Each govt seat is govt spending a crore per student per year.

      Hegde : When you suspect cancer and the tests are inconclusive, then the best thing to do is to go for chemotherapy. You cannot take the risk of cancer cells grow.

      Hegde : If the syllabus had been easy, then rising tide raises all boats together. In that magic zone above 650, there are more than 50,000 students. This is a huge red flag.
