    A Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court will continue hearing today the cases related to rift in Shiv Sena.

    A bench led by CJI DY Chandrachud will hear the matter. Justices MR Shah, Krishna Murari, Hima Kohli and PS Narasimha are the other members of the bench.

    The bench started hearing the matter on merits from February 21. On February 16, it had decided to defer a decision on the preliminary issue of larger bench reference by choosing to determine it along with the merits of the case.

    Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal completed his submissions for the Uddhav side over three days. Senior Advocate Dr.Abhishek Manu Singhvi commenced his arguments for Uddhav side on February 23. Reports of the previous hearings can be read here, here, here, here, herehere, here and here.

      Kaul: After hearing the arguments, court gave time till 12th. We had also raised as justification the fact that there was a threat to our lives, homes were being burnt, it was not safe for us. So we weren't in state.

      Kaul: In this background, on 27th June, we come to this court to say that there has been a serious violation of principles of natural justice as instead of 7 days, we got weekend to reply and we need more time to file a reply.

      Kaul: On 25th, even the Thackeray faction writes to the ECI. The minority faction writes to the ECI to say that there is a rival faction which may start a party, we are the real shivsena- they invoke the jurisdiction of ECI.
