    The Lok Sabha has resumed the discussion on three criminal law bills.

    The bills are Bharatiya Nyaya (Second) Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha (Second) Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Bill, which seek to repeal and replace the Indian Penal Code 1860, Code of Criminal Procedure 1973 and the Indian Evidence Act 1872.

    The House started the discussion yesterday amidst the en masse suspension of several key opposition members.  A total of 141 MPs have been suspended from both houses so far.

      "I am against 377 and adultery. The Supreme Court's motto is yato dharmastato jayah, but it isn't talking about dharma. No dharma endorses adultery or unnatural sex. Whatever the Supreme Court has done was wrong."

      BJP MP Nishikant Dubey: For the information of those who think our govt does not believe in democracy and bulldozes the opposition, it was this govt that had the conviction and courage to withdraw the bills after the standing committee recommended changes. This standing committee had members from all political parties. In the revised bills, all recommendations made by the standing committee have been incorporated.
