AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi opposes the proposal to impose fines, instead of jail sentences, on manufacturers of substandard drugs -

"This govt is putting the populace at risk. Where companies were supposed to be punished, it decided to only impose fines. But, non-violent offences of sedition and defamation are included within the new criminal law. These bills are marked by distrust for the people, and trust for businesses."
