Kolkata Doctor's Rape-Murder : Live Updates From Supreme Court Hearing | RG Kar Suo Motu Case

The Supreme Court will hear today at 2 PM the suo motu case taken over the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at the RG Kar Medical College Hospital, Kolkata.
A bench comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Misra will hear the matter.
Previously, the Court had pursued the status report filed by the CBI and said that it had disturbing details about certain lapses by the Kolkata police. The Court had also urged the protesting doctors in West Bengal to resume their duties. The Court also took exception to an advisory issued by the West Bengal Government to avoid night duty for women doctors, saying that equal work opportunities can't be denied to women under the guise of protection.

Nandy : people in position of powers are in relation to medical examinations, tenders etc
CJI: SG pls tell us who are the people under investigation still employed in RG Kar against whom financial irregularities are alleged...ultimately any action has to be taken by the state govt...it would be appropriate at this stage for sharing of information with the State Govt

Jaisingh: Im making the statement that they have all gone back to work, secondly what about the reputation- 7 people in investigation are still in employment at RG Kar and we only request temporary suspension - so we (doctors) can go back to work with confidence. How are we expected to work if they are still in position of power ?
