TRP Scam : 3 Republic TV Employees Granted Anticipatory Bail By Sessions Court

A sessions court at Mumbai, on Wednesday granted anticipatory bail to three Republic TV employees including,  their Chief financial Officer, in the alleged TRP Scam.

Additional Sessions Judge Abhishri Deo granted anticipatory bail to Shivendra Mundherkar, Ranjit Walter and Chief Financial Officer Siva Subramaniam.

They were recently cited as accused in the TRP Scam charge sheet along with Arnab Goswami.

They have all been charged under sections 406 and 409 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), 465 and 468 (forgery), 120B (conspiracy), 174 and 179 (non-cooperation during the investigation), 201 and 204 (destruction of evidence), 212 (harbouring offenders). Earlier, 15 people were charge-sheeted.

Represented by law firm Phoenix Legal, the three argued that the case was mainly dependent on documentary evidence and the investigation against them was complete.

Their bail conditions include cooperating with the investigation and not leaving the country without prior permission of the court.
