University of Petroleum and Energy Studies announces Admission Notification 2016

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) was established in the year 2003 through UPES Act, 2003 of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand. With an ambitious vision and unique approach, UPES emerged as an innovative institution offering industry-focused specialized graduate, post graduate and doctoral programs. The College of Legal Studies intends to produce competent and strong legal professionals for the future. What makes CoLS stand apart is the inclusion of techno-legal programs such as LLM with specialization in Energy Laws and several specialized programs including Computer Science & Engineering + LLB with specialization in Cyber Laws which is a field of prime importance in the future.

The institute has announced admission notification for the academic year 2016-17 for the following courses:

• A, LL.B (Hons.) with specialization in Energy Laws (5 years Integrated Course)
• BBA, LL.B. with emphasis on Corporate Laws (5 years Integrated Course)
• Com, LL.B. (Hons.) with emphasis on Taxation Laws (5 years Integrated Course)
• Tech in Energy Technology + LLB (Hons.) with specialization in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
• Tech in Computer Science Engineering + LLB (Hons.) with Specialization in Cyber Law
• M. in Energy Laws and International Law (1 year Course)

For Admission in B.A,LL.B (Hons.) / BBA, LL.B. / B. Com, LL.B. (Hons.)

Eligibility: Minimum 50% marks at higher & senior level (10th & 12th)

Admission Procedure: LLB admissions through UPES Online Law Studies Aptitude Test(UL-SAT)

CLAT Merit / L-SAT India Merit

1. For BA LLB (Hons.)/ BBA LLB (Hons.)/ B.Com, LLB (Hons)- Candidates with minimum 50% Marks in Higher & Senior Secondary (10th & 12th) and CLAT ranking upto 5000/ L-SAT India score of 60 percentile or above will be exempted from UPES Law Studies Aptitude test and will be invited directly for GD and Interview.
2. For B. Tech+ LLB (Hons.) Candidates with minimum 60% Marks in Higher & Senior Secondary (10th & 12th), minimum 60% Marks in PCM at Senior Secondary Level (12th) and CLAT ranking upto 5000/ L-SAT India score of 60 percentile or above will be exempted from UPES-EAT and admissions through Merit Ranking.

Board Merit

1. For BA LLB (Hons.)/ BBA LLB (Hons.)/B.Com LLB (Hons)- Candidates with 85% marks in 10th and 12th best of five subjects (English as one of the compulsory paper) are exempted from UPES Law Studies Aptitude Test (UL-SAT) and will be invited directly for GD and Interview.
2. For B.Tech+ LLB (Hons.) Candidates with minimum 80% marks in 10th, 12th and 12th PCM (Physics, Chemistry & Maths) are exempted from UPES-EAT and admissions will be through Merit Ranking.

For Admission in B.Tech in Energy Technology + LLB (Hons) / B. Tech in Computer Science Engineering + LLB (Hons.)

Eligibility

• Minimum 50% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th);
• Minimum 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level

Admission Procedure: UPES Engineering Aptitude Test (UPESEAT) followed by Centralized Counseling.

CLAT Merit / L-SAT India Merit:

1. Candidates with minimum 60% Marks in Higher & Senior Secondary (10th & 12th), minimum 60% Marks in PCM at Senior Secondary Level (12th) and CLAT ranking upto 5000/ L-SAT India score of 60 percentile or above will be exempted from UPES-EAT and admissions through Merit Ranking
2. Candidates with minimum 80% marks in 10th, 12th and 12th PCM (Physics, Chemistry & Maths) are exempted from UPES-EAT and admissions will be through Merit Ranking Age Criteria: Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st October 1994 are eligible to apply for admission; date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board only will be taken as authentic

LLM with specialization in Energy Laws

Eligibility: Minimum 50 % Marks at Higher & Secondary Level (10th & 12th) and LLB Degree

Admission Procedure: Centralized proctored Online Test. Test Date & Last Date to Apply for Test will be announced by 15th February 2016.
