Uniform Civil Code : Law Commission Of India Extends Time For Public To Give Suggestions

The Law Commission of India has decided to extend the time for public to give suggestions on the subject of Uniform Civil Code by two more weeks "in view of the overwhelming response from the public".

The initial deadline set by the Law Commission for the submission of suggestions ended today. It was on June 14 that the Commission decided to to re-open the debate on UCC by inviting fresh views from public at large and religious organizations.

Those who are interested and willing may present their views by July 28, 2023 through “click here” button or email at membersecretary-lci@gov.in to the Law Commission of India. They can also write to the “Member Secretary, Law Commission of India, 4th Floor, Lok Nayak Bhawan, Khan Market, New Delhi– 110 003.” If need be, Commission may call upon any individual or organization for a personal hearing or discussion.
