Justice Kant : We are listing on July 11, 2022. Meanwhile as an interim measure, the time granted by the Deputy Speaker to the petitioners or other similarly placed MLAs to submit their written submissions today by 5.30 PM will be extended till July 11, 2022, 5.30 PM.

Justice Kant : We only want the status quo to continue till we balance competing claims, all issues will be determined by us, for that we need your affidavits.

Kamat refers to the SC judgment in the Karnataka assembly case.

Justice Kant : Mr. Kamat, these are good debatable issues and we'll consider this but today we have to consider that the petition does not become infructuous.

Justice Pardiwala asks Mr. Kamat to read from the Kihoto judgment the para which says the Speaker's decision is not immune from judicial scrutiny.

Kamat refers to Para 6 of the tenth schedule to say that disqualification proceedings shall be deemed to be proceedings of the assembly.

"Till a final order is passed, there is no question of judicial review and no question of interim order", he says.

Kamat : No Court has ever granted a stay of disqualification process. The proceedings of the House will be interdicted.

Kamat : I don't know how Solicitor General is interested in this. This is very strange.
