Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Transfer Of Gujarat HC Judge Justice Vipul M Pancholi On September 29; Resolution Published Now

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of Gujarat High Court judge Justice Vipul M Pancholi to Patna High Court.

The decision, which was taken at a Collegium meeting held on September 29, was uploaded on the Supreme Court website today.

"The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 29th September, 2022 has recommended transfer of Mr. Justice Vipul Manubhai Pancholi, Judge, Gujarat High Court, to Patna High Court," the Collegium statement said.

The collegium proposal to transfer another Gujarat High Court judge, Justice Nikhil Kariel, has become controversial with the Gujarat High Court Advocates Association launching a protest against it. The delegates from the Association, which decided to boycott courts as a mark of protest, today met the Chief Justice of India to discuss the issue. The resolution regarding Justice Kariel is yet to be officially published.
