Supreme Court Collegium Makes Recommendations For Judges To 6 High Courts

The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 6th, 7th, and 8th October 2021 approved the proposal for elevation/appointment of 23 Additional Judges/Advocates/Judicial Officers as Judges across 6 High Courts.

Madras High Court

Shri J. Sathya Narayana Prasad, Advocate, has been recommended as Judge in the Madras High Court

Rajasthan High Court

Following Advocates have been recommended to be elevated as Judges in the Rajasthan High Court:

1. Shri Kuldeep Mathur,

2. Shri Maneesh Sharma,

3. Ms. Rekha Borana, and

4. Shri Sameer Jain

Additionally, Smt. Shubha Mehta, Judicial Officer, has also been recommended to be made a Judge in the Rajasthan High Court

Allahabad High Court 

A proposal has been passed by the collegium to elevate Shri Manu Khare, Advocate as Judge in the Allahabad High Court

Karnataka High Court

Following Advocates have been recommended to be elevated as Judges in the Karnataka High Court:

1. Shri Anant Ramanath Hegde,

2. Shri Cheppudira Monnappa Poonacha,

3. Shri Siddaiah Rachaiah, and

4. Smt. Kannankuzhyil Sreedharan Hemalekha

Calcutta High Court

Collegium, in its meeting, held on 8th October, 2021 has, on reconsideration, resolved to reiterate its earlier recommendations for the elevation of Shri Sakya Sen, Advocate as Judge in the Calcutta High Court.

Shri Soubhik Mitter, Advocate has been recommended as Judge in the Calcutta High Court.

Punjab and Haryana High Court

The Supreme Court Collegium has approved the proposal for appointment of the following Additional Judges as Permanent Judges in the Punjab & Haryana High Court:

1. Mr. Justice Suvir Sehgal,

2. Mrs. Justice Alka Sarin,

3. Mr. Justice Jasgurpreet Singh Puri,

4. Mr. Justice Ashok Kumar Verma,

5. Mr. Justice Sant Parkash,

6. Smt. Justice Meenakshi I. Mehta,

7. Mr. Justice Karamjit Singh,

8. Mr. Justice Vivek Puri,

9. Smt. Justice Archana Puri, and

10. Mr. Justice Rajesh Bhardwaj
