    In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Supreme Court Centre For Research & Planning organised the Supreme Court of India, Law Clerks' Moot Court Competition 2024' on 27th and 28th April 2024 on the Supreme Court premises.     In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Supreme Court Centre For Research & Planning organised the Supreme Court of India, Law Clerks' Moot Court Competition 2024'  on 27th and 28th April 2024 on the Supreme Court premises.  The event was conducted in an endeavour to provide experiential and hands-on legal insights for Law Clerks associated with the offices of various Supreme Court Judges. 

    The two-day-long competition witnessed deliberations by a total of 15 teams, with the final rounds being judged by Justice PS Narasimha and Senior Advocate Ms Rebecca John. The key themes and issues for mooting revolved around the applicability and interpretation of the Specific Relief Act, Indian Contract Act and the Constitutionality of the Telegraph Act of 1885, Telecommunications Act, of 2023 and IT Act of 2000.

    The winning team of clerks included Mr Sayan Bhattacharya, Mr Varun Dhond and Ms Ankita Gupta (Team no.6). The Runners Up team comprised Mr Sashi Barathvaj S and Mr Raghav Sengupta ( also awarded the Best Speaker in Final Rounds).
