Actor Payal Ghosh's lawyer told the Bombay High Court on Wednesday that she is willing to apologize for her statements against actor Richa Chadha and ready to withdraw the same.

The submission was made by Advocate Nitin Satpute on behalf of Ghosh before Justice A K Menon in the civil defamation suit filed by Chadha seeking Rupees 1.1 Crore damages against Ghosh.

The bench also asked the advocate of Kamaal R Khan, who is a co-defendant in the suit, if his client was also willing to withdraw the comments.

To this, the lawyer replied that his client had only shared Ghosh's comments. The lawyer added that he will seek instructions from his client by the next posting date.

Dr. Tulzpurkar, Chadha's lawyer, pressed for the interim order and submitted that the issue of the settlement could be sorted out by Monday.

Following that, the Court passed an order of temporary injunction(John Doe order) restraining news platforms from sharing or circulating the comments against Richa Chadha.

The Court will consider the matter next on Monday(October 12). Ghosh has been asked to work out the settlement with Chadha by then.

Chadha filed the suit alleging her name was dragged by Ghosh into the allegations of sexual assault levelled by her against director Anurag Kashyap.

As the matter was being considered by the High Court, Ghosh tweeted that she had nothing against Chadha.
