    The statement was given in reply to a query raised by Member of Parliament (MP) Sanjay Kumar Jha. Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal also stated that the  National Litigation Policy has not been finalised. 

    The Minister further said that to reduce litigation, the Government of India has promoted Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms through key legislative reforms such as the amendments to the Arbitration and Conciliation Act carried out in 2015, 2019 and 2020; the 2018 amendment to the Commercial Courts Act to mandate Pre-Institution Mediation and Settlement; the enactments of the India International Arbitration Centre Act, 2019 and the Mediation Act, 2023.
