Counsel: a very brave doctor, I don't want to reveal the gender of the doctor, it gave a representation to the police, lot of people have given a representation to the police- they have asked me to forward it to mylords, I have three copies of the representation

Counsel: what happened was that the police left and hid in the changing rooms of nurses, this is what the doctors told me.

Counsel: Most of the women doctors have been called back because they were not feeling safe. On that very date, the state police ran away from the scene.

Counsel: the same day when the goons entered the protest site, they went to the women's hostel and threatened the lady resident doctors. They were threatened with a kind of threat that is given to a woman everytime they protest. They were threatened with very harsh consequences

CJI: the abstaining doctors and medical professionals stand assured that their concerns are receiving the highest concern from the Supreme Court of India. Besides their concerns are already being portrayed before this court by a diverse range of counsels

CJI: we request all the doctors who are abstaining from work across the country to resume the work at the earliest. Above all the abstention from work of doctors effects those segments of the society who need medical care the most from accessing day to day services.

CJI: we have flagged these very issues.

CJI: list on August 22. We expect that the Govt of WB shall observe necessary restraint in the face of peaceful protests being conducted by any quarter of the society bearing on the issues which form the subject matter of the incident in Kolkata

Counsel ( for young women doctors) : we request (1) software mechanism system where distress call be linked to the nearby police station; (2) proper functioning of the CCTV cameras inside the hospital

Sr Adv appearing for an intervenor : only two suggestions (1) institutional FIR to be lodged within 2 hours of the cognizable offence happening within the incident; (2) a distress call system may be made available...
