    The Supreme Court to hear today at 10.30 AM the suo motu case taken over the rape and murder of a doctor at the RG Kar Medical College Hospital, Kolkata.

    A bench comprising CJI DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra will hear the matter.

    The suo motu case titled "In Re : Alleged Rape and Murder of Trainee Doctor in RG Kar Medical College Hospital, Kolkata and related issues" was registered on August 18.

    The Calcutta High Court on August 13 transferred the investigation to the CBI after expressing dissatisfaction with the Kolkata Police,

    Several associations of doctors and medical consultants have intervened in the suo motu case submitting their suggestions to enhance the security for medical professionals.
