Jaising submits that she agrees with the suggestion of the bench to send Varavara Rao to Nanavati hospital for 15 days for examination.

Jaising intervenes- Who will take responsibility if he dies? He has had a heart attack in Nanavati Hospital. If anything happens to him, itt will be nothing short of a "custodial death".

ASG Anil Singh says that the previous order(Nov 12) had mentioned that physical examination could be done if felt necessary after video examination.

The bench says that it agrees with Jaising that proper medical examination is not possible over 15 minutes video call.

The bench observes that JJ hospital is already burdened and the court does not want to add to its pressure.

The bench suggests that the state should pay for the treatment of Varavara Rao at Nanavati hospital as he is under State custody.

Justice Shinde - We have already mentioned that State and Centre are doing a lot for Covid. We are only saying transfer him to Nanavati for two weeks. We will further see after two weeks.

The bench asks the NIA and the Maharashtra Govt to take instructions on shifting Varavara Rao to Nanavati hospital subject to COVID19 protocol.
