    Former Supreme Court judge Justice Mamidana Jagannadha Rao passed away. He was a judge of the Supreme Court from 21, 1997 to December 1, 2000.

    He was born on December 2, 1935 and got enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council of Hyderabad on July 25, 1960. He was made an Additional Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on September 29, 1982. He became a permanent Judge two months later and was later appointed as the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court on August 8 1991. He was then transferred to Delhi High Court on April 12, 1994 and served as its Chief Justice till 1997.

    His son, Justice MS Ramachandra Rao, is currently serving as the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court.
