CJI: We would like the statistics of application of principles emanating from this amendment. Who are the beneficiaries? Where exactly do they compare? We would like those statistics from some of the states.

SG: Over night it might be difficult.

SG: If the parliament deciding in its wisdom to provide benefit to one class which has its own aspirations that may not be a ground.

SG: What is a betrayal of basic structure is not mere violation of art 14 but a shocking travesty of equal justice. This is the threshold as per Bhim Singh.

SG: Petitioners have argued as if they've challenged a legislation or administrative action. Testing a validity of constitutional amendment on the basis of basic structure needs a very high threshold. 

SG: The grounds raised on stats can never be the basis of constitutional amendment and can only be raised while questioning legislation based on EWS. Every clause is an enabling clause.

SG: The validity of constitutional amendment cannot be tested on other constitutional provisions but can only be tested on basic structure.

SG: Any proposition which is flexible does not destroy basic structure.

SG: They can only challenge if they say with very high threshold that EWS violates equality code and if the limit of 50% violates basic structure.

Limit of 50% has not been held inviolable.

SG: A constitutional amendment can only be challenged if it destroys the basic structure of constitution.
