Before the Supreme Court today (May 28) Senior Advocate Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi mentioned Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's application seeking an extension of interim bail granted to him in the Delhi Liquor Policy.

The application was mentioned before the Vacation Bench comprising Justices JK Maheshwari and KV Viswanathan.

Dr. Singhvi appearing for Kejriwal requested the bench to list the Interim Application seeking extension of interim bail granted to Kejriwal to be heard tomorrow (May 29).

Singhvi stated that an extension of interim bail to one week is required so that medical tests (PET-CT scan) prescribed by the Doctors be conducted.

Justice Maheshwari stated that the matter was already heard and the Judgment was reserved.

However, Singhvi informed the Court that the matter was heard relating to challenging the arrest by ED but the instant application was filed on the medical grounds seeking an extension of an interim bail granted to Kejriwal by one week.

The bench directed the memo to be listed before the Chief Justice of India for passing of an appropriate order. As per the interim order dated May 10, Kejriwal has to surrender on June 2.

The Aam Aadmi Party chief, who was released from judicial custody as an interim measure for the purposes of campaigning during the Lok Sabha elections, said that he has to undergo diagnostic tests/investigations, including a PET-CT Scan. He seeks an extension of the relief for a period of 7 days.

It may be recalled that Kejriwal was arrested by the ED from his residence on March 21, after the Delhi High Court refused to grant him interim relief earlier in the day. He remained in custody since then till May 10, when the top Court granted him the benefit of interim release till June 1 subject to certain conditions.
