The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned to September 3 a writ petition filed seeking directions to CBSE to declare results Class XII Private Patrachar/2nd Compartment Students by devising a similar assessment as applied to regular students.
The plea also seeks directions to change the date sheet of the Class XII of Private Patrachar and Compartment Students so as to ensure that the proposed exams will not clash with other competitive/CET exams proposed to be held by the colleges and universities.
A Bench comprising Justice AM Khanwilkar, Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice JK Maheshwari has directed a copy of the petition to be served to the Standing Counsels for the Respondents.
The respondents in the present matter are CBSE, University Grants Commission and All India Council For Technical Education
The plea has sought directions to ensure that the colleges, universities and other educational institutions, etc. falling under their purview shall take the admissions of Private/Patrachar/2nd Compartment students on a provisional basis (the confirmation of which will be subject to declaration of results of private students) and not to reject their candidature due to delayed results.
During the hearing, Advocate Anjaneya Mishra informed the court that the results have not been declared. Further exams are being conducted the same day on which Mathematics exam is scheduled.
"Serve advanced copy to other side. If there is some issue we will see", the Bench said posting the petition to Friday.
