    Attorney General for India R Venkataramani told the Supreme Court on Friday (September 13) that he wanted to share certain 'sensitive information' regarding some of the recent collegium recommendations, which are pending with the Union Government.

    The AG was appearing for the Union in a PIL seeking directions for time-bound implementation of the Collegium Resolutions for judges' appointments.

    “I have received some information…I'll share it, information is confidential, sensitive, I'd like to place it on record,”  AG told a bench comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud,Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra .

    Mr Attorney just sort it out, I had a word with you last week”,  CJI told the AG.

    The bench will now be hearing the matter on September 20.

    Notably, in July the Supreme Court collegium recommended the appointment of new Chief Justices in the following High Courts. These resolutions are yet to be executed by the Union Government.

    The recommendations were as follows :

    1. Justice Manmohan has been proposed to be made the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. He is presently the Acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court
    2. Justice M S Ramachandra Rao(presently Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court) is proposed to be transferred as the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court on the retirement of incumbent CJ Dr B R Sarangi on 19.7.2024)
    3. Justice Justice Rajiv Shakdher(Delhi High Court judge) - Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court (in the future vacancy which would arise on transfer of Justice Ramachandra Rao to Jharkhand)
    4. Justice Suresh Kait(Delhi High Court judge) - Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh (in the future vacancy which would arise if the proposal to elevate the incumbent CJ N Kotiswar Singh is accepted).
    5. Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia(Punjab & Haryana High Court Judge) - Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court
    6. Justice Nitin Jamdar(Bombay High Court judge) - Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court
    7. Justice Tashi Rabstan (J&K&L HC judge) - Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court (after the retirement of incumbent CJ Vaidyanathan on August 16)
    8. Justice K R Shriram(Bombay High Court judge) - Chief Justice of the Madras High Court

    The resolution was passed by the Collegium comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice BR Gavai.
