    [September 14] A Public Interest Litigation has been filed in the Supreme Court against the illegal detention of children in Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of revocation of Article 370 and bifurcation of State.

    The Petition was filed by Ms. Enakshi Ganguly, an eminent child rights expert and Professor Shanta Sinha , the first Chairperson of the National Commission for Child Rights (NCPCR).

    [September 13] Jammu and Kashmir High Court has allowed Two Members of the Parliament (Lok Sabha), belonging to National Conference Party, to meet Dr Farooq Abdullah and Mr Omar Abdullah, President and Vice President of their party, respectively.

    [September 12] Jammu & Kashmir People's Conference has filed a writ petition before the Supreme Court challenging the scrapping of Article 370 through Presidential orders and also the Jammu and Kashmir (Reorganization) Act of 2019.

    Another  Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court of India seeking restoration of internet and landline services across hospitals and medical establishments throughout Jammu and Kashmir.

    The writ petition, filed by the Spokesperson of the National Conference, Dr. Sameer Kaul, highlights the adverse effects of the prolonged shutdown of internet services on health and medical services in the region.

    [August 13] Advocate Vrinda Grover made a mention before the bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra for urgent listing of the petition filed by Anuradha Bhasin, Executive Editor of Kashmir Times daily, against the media curbs imposed in the valley.

    On this, the bench directed the registry to examine the details of the petition for listing.

    Challenging the curbs on media freedom imposed in the Kashmir valley in the wake of the abrogation of the state's special status and the Act passed by the Parliament to bifurcate it, a writ petition was filed in the Supreme Court  by Anuradha Bhasin, the Executive Editor of Kashmir Times.

    [August 10] National Conference Leaders Approach SC Against Presidential Order On Article 370, J&K Bifurcation

    National Conference leaders Mohammed Akbar Lone and Hasnain Masoodi have approached the Supreme Court challenging the Central Government measures which abrogated the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and also the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act 2019 which bifurcated the state into Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh.

    The petition challenges the constitutional validity of the Presidential Orders issued on August 5 and August 6 in relation to Article 370 of the Constitution of India.

    [August 10] A law graduate in Delhi has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking information about his parents in Kashmir.

    Mohammad Aleem Syed, a law graduate from Jamia Milia Islamia who is currently doing apprenticeship with a lawyer in Delhi, states that he has not received any information from his parents and brother in Kashmir since the intervening night of 4th/5th August.

    [August 9] Challenging the Presidential Order issued on August 5 under Article 370 of the Constitution, Shakir Shabir, a lawyer from Kashmir, has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court.

    [August 6] Advocate M. L. Sharma has moved Supreme Court under Article 32 of the Constitution, challenging the Constitution (Application to Jammu & Kashmir) Order, 2019.

    [August 5] President Ram Nath Kovind today, promulgated the Constitution (Application to Jammu & Kashmir) Order, 2019 (the Order), in concurrence with the Government of State of Jammu & Kashmir, with immediate effect.

    The order supersedes the Constitution (Application to Jammu and Kashmir) Order, 1954 and states that all the provisions of the Constitution of India shall apply to the State of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
