NLSIU Two Day Workshop on “Copyright Limitations and Exceptions for Libraries and Archives”

Centre for Intellectual Property Rights and Advocacy (CIPRA), National Law School of India University, Bangalore and MHRD Chair on Intellectual Property Rights presents a Two Day Workshop on “Copyright Limitations and Exceptions for Libraries and Archives.”

 Date: 4^th & 5^th March, 2016

Venue: Conference Hall, Training Centre, National Law School of India University, Bangalore

Objective of the Workshop:

The underlying objective of the Workshop is to present to the public, academic, special, and school librarians the opportunity to learn about intricacies of Copyright Law and its limitations and exceptions on the facilities availed through the libraries and in Archives. Participants in the workshop will develop a better understanding of the law and learn how to balance the rights of authors and creators with the needs of the end users.

Themes of the Workshop:

The Workshop intent to discuss on the issues of the Copyrightable subject matter, Rights of the Author, Publishers & end users, and also the impact of digital technology on Copyright regime with a major concentration on Copyright Limitations and Exceptions to Libraries and Archives.

Eligibility to attend:

Librarians, Copyright Holder, Publishers, Compatible Software’s Developers, Governmental Institutes and Organizations, Academic Institutions, Advocates and public in general.
