The Executive Committee of the Supreme Court Bar Association has passed a resolution terming the suo moto proceedings by Supreme Court in sexual harassment allegations against CJI Gogoi as "violation of procedure established by law as well as principles of natural justice".
It is pertinent to note this is in negation of the stand of the President of SCBA Rakesh Kumar Khanna, who had dismissed the allegations as baseless while taking part in the suo moto proceedings on Saturday.
"The EC further resolves and requests the Hon'ble Full Court of the Hon'ble Supreme Court to take all such necessary steps as may be required in law in this respect.
The EC further resolves that without prejudice to any enquiry which may be initiated as above, it shall collage all materials and facts with regard to the said allegations from Social Media, Electornic Media, Print Media and other available sources, which may be considered in its next meeting"
Earlier, the SC AoR Association had also condemned the procedure adopted by SC and called for a full court probe.
