Transformer Explosion At Patna Civil Court Claims Two Lives, Several Injured

A tragic incident unfolded at the Patna Civil Court today when an unexpected transformer explosion claimed two lives. As per sources, one of them was a lawyer.
The sudden outbreak of fire within the transformer, followed by a subsequent explosion, caused chaos within the court premises, prompting immediate action from the fire brigade, which rushed to the scene to douse the flames. The incident at Gate No. 1 of the civil court in Patna, which occurred around 1 p.m. local time, resulted in chaos and reportedly left six to seven people injured.
The deceased lawyer has been identified as Devendra Prasad. Two others who sustained severe burn injuries were promptly taken to the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for treatment, where one of them succumbed to the injuries.
The incident incited a significant uproar among the legal community within the court premises, leading to protests demanding justice and compensation for the victims' families.
Mrs. Chhaya Mishra, Vice President of the Patna High Court Advocates Association, has called for the prosecution of the responsible officers from the Bihar State Power Distribution Company.
Expressing condolences, she stated, "Our sympathies go to the family of our colleague, Sri Devendra Kumar, who became victim of the transformer blast in Patna Civil Court on Wednesday noon.We extend our support to the other lawyers who got burn injuries and are admitted in Patna medical College hospital."
"We demand immediate action and registration of FIR against the officers responsible for the death of the lawyer in transformer blast. Their negligence in maintenance of transformer caused blast. An ex gratia of RS 20 lakhs be paid to the family of the deceased advocate and urge the government to bear the medical expenses of the advocates who received burns," she further said.
