On 31st of December, the State Agriculture and Cooperation Department in consultation with the Law Department and Registrar General of the High Court issued a Govt. Order, thereby allotting 100 acres in Budvel, Rajendranagar District, that previously vested with Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTS) and Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University (SKLTSHU) for setting up the new High Court Building.
The order has been passed keeping in mind the compact nature of the existing High Court building and to accommodate future needs and explanations.
While many advocates celebrate this allotment, a portion of the Bar has demonstrated protests before the High Court contending that the allocation was made without consulting the members of the Bar.
The main grievance of the lawyers is that the land allotted for the new High Court is not easily accessible. It has also been suggested that presently, the High Court is adjacent/nearby to the lower courts allowing advocates to appear before more than one Courts conveniently.
Issues regarding traveling inconveniences were also brought up.
