Swati Maliwal Assault Case: Delhi Court Remands Bhibhav Kumar To Four Days Of Judicial Custody

A Delhi Court on Friday remanded Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bhibhav Kumar to four days of judicial custody in the alleged Swati Maliwal assault case.
Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Goyal of Tis Hazari Courts passed the order after Kumar was produced in court on the expiry of five days of police remand.
Kumar will now be produced in court on May 28. The FIR was registered on the written complaint of Aam Aadmi Party's Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. Kumar was arrested on May 18.
Today, the Delhi Police sought four days of judicial custody remand for Kumar.
The Delhi Police has alleged that Kumar has always been non-co-operative during investigation and gave evasive answers to the questions. It has also been alleged that he deliberately did not disclose the password of his mobile phone, which is an important piece of information in the probe to unearth the truth.
“That after receipt of the report from the experts, accused may be required for confrontation to proceed with the investigation and to reach to a logical conclusion. Some investigation si being carried out by the members of the investigating team in Mumbai and are likely ot return Delhi soon with some evidences and the accused wil be required again for confrontation. Accordingly, accused may please be remanded to 4 days judicial custody remand,” the remand application reads.
Maliwal alleged that Kumar assaulted her when she went to meet Kejriwal at his residence on May 13.
