Prathiba M. Singh Cambridge LL.M. Scholarship 2021- Award Ceremony: Register Now [November 8]

The scholarship, instituted in 2013, was the first endeavour under the "Sardar Manmohan Singh Charitable Trust" that was set up to support meritorious students who wanted to pursue higher education. The Scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to young Indian Scholars who wish to pursue their higher studies in Law at the University of Cambridge, UK. From 2014 until 2021, the tally of students who have been given an opportunity to pursue higher education at Cambridge has come to 14.

Mr. Fali S. Nariman, renowned jurist and Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India, will be the Chief Guest at the event.

The Vice-Chancellor of Cambridge University, Prof. Stephen J. Toope, along with other prominent speakers including Justice Pratibha M Singh herself, will be addressing the audience.

The Trust has also thanked the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust for its support in this initiative.

"Any contribution towards education of others, is truly a commendable gesture. And any participation in their higher education, ever so more. I compliment Mrs. Prathiba M. Singh, Judge - Delhi High Court, and Mr. Maninder Singh, Senior Advocate, for continuing with the noble cause, of assisting meritorious Indian students, in their endeavours towards higher learning, in the field of law", commented former Supreme Court Chief Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar in his message for the Scholarship inititiative.

Justice U.U Lalit, Supreme Court, shared his hopes that the legal community would follow their example (Jusitce Pratibha Singh and Senopr Advocate Maninder Singh) in "galvanizing young minds and creating more such opportunities". "I wish the Trust all the very best for its future endeavour", he said.

"We know of CSR- Corporate Social Responsibility, but I call this LSR - Lawyers Social Responsibility", former Supreme Court Justice A.K Sikri also noted while appreciating the efforts of Justice Pratibha M Singh and Maninder Singh.
