P&H HC Launches Project For Preparation Of Face Masks In Jail

Following the footsteps of other jails in the country during the ongoing lockdown due to COVID 19, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has recently launched a project under which the jail inmates of Patiala Central jail would prepare face masks for the needy persons.
Justice Rajan Gupta, Administrative judge of Sessions Division, Patiala who is also Chairman of jail committee has launched the project on Friday.
According to a press release, the office bearers of Janhit Samiti have agreed to supply the clothe for manufacturing of the double layered washable face masks by the jail inmates of Central Jail, Patiala."
"A number of undertrial prisoners volunteered to prepare the face masks without charging anything for their labour. The said masks would be distributed to the needy persons free of cost."
The project is the brain child of Justice Gupta.
While launching the project, Justice Gupta said since the vaccine against the deadly COVID 19 is yet to come, we all have to follow the advisories issues by the department time to time.
The District and Sessions Judge Rajinder Aggarwal has informed that the facility of hand washing with soap is being provided at the main gate of the Patiala District Court.The foot operated machine is installed which can be used by pressing the pedal."
To facilitate the drinking water for lawyers and litigants, another foot operated machine is also installed on the first floor of the Judicial Court Complex.
