The Executive Committee of the Oudh Bar Association of the Allahabad High Court has decided not to organise felicitation/farewell function in the honour of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh who has recently been transferredto the Kerala High Court.

The decision was taken in the emergency meeting of the Association called on July 16 which was chaired by its President Anand Mani Tripathi and supervised by General Secretary Manoj Kumar Mishra.

In the meeting, it was considered to organize a felicitation ceremony according to the old tradition in honour of Justice Singh, however, the office bearers and executive members expressed their views that the behaviour of Justice Singh, during his tenure as a judge of the High Court, has been disrespectful towards the lawyer.

The members also expressed their views that Justice Singh's behaviour had tarnished the Association's reputation.

Taking into account the aforesaid, the Executive Committee unanimously decided that the Association would not organize a felicitation ceremony for Justice Singh.

The association has further resolved that if the High Court convenes a full bench meeting in honour of Justice Singh, then the members of the Bar Association will boycott the same.

On July 12, 2023, the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended Justice D.K. Singh's transfer to Kerala High Court, and thereby rejected his request to be transferred to other States such as Delhi, Punjab & Haryana, Madhya Pradesh or Rajasthan.
