Orissa High Court Hosts 1st All India Judges' Badminton Championship, Justices Bechu Kurian Thomas & Raja Vijayaraghavan Emerge As Winners

The Orissa High Court has hosted 1^st All India Judges' Badminton Championship-2025 on 4^th and 5^th January, 2025 under the patronage of Chief Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Cuttack.

The event was organised with an objective to enhance camaraderie among the Judges of different High Courts so also to promote sports and physical fitness among the judicial office bearers. This is also an attempt to take forward the theme of recently concluded Chief Justices' Conference.

The Championship was inaugurated on 4^th January, 2025 by Chief Justice Singh in the presence of other Judges of the High Court of Orissa and also the participating Judges of different High Courts across the Country.

Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas, Judge, Kerala High Court was the winner and Justice Raja Vijayaraghavan, Judge, Kerala High Court became the runner up in Badminton Singles.

Similarly, the team of Justices Bechu Kurian Thomas and Raja Vijayaraghavan of Kerala High Court emerged as the winner and the team of Justices G.K. Ilanthiraiyan and N. Satish Kumar of Madras High Court became the runners-up in Badminton Doubles.

Chief Justice Singh presented trophies and mementoes to the winners and runners-up and the participating Judges. Sitting Judges as well as former Judges of the High Court of Orissa were present in the event to encourage the finalists and participants.
