Names Of Senior Advocates Shouldn't Be Mentioned In The Cause List: Allahabad High Court Directs Registry

The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday directed its registry to not mention the name of the Senior Advocates in the Cause lists.
The Bench of Justice Vivek Agarwal was hearing a criminal revision plea, when G.S. Chauhan, counsel for the revisionist submitted that arguing counsel in the matter, Anil Srivastava had been designated as a senior Advocate.
To this, the Court directed the Registry to delete the name of Anil Srivastava from the cause list.
"It is further directed that name of none of the Senior Advocates should be mentioned in the cause list as it is against the provisions contained in the Advocates Act and Rules framed by Bar Council of India," added the Court.
It may be noted that last year, the Allahabad High Court had asked as to under which provision of law, name of Senior Advocate is reflected in the cause list [WRIT - A No. - 9067 of 2019].
The Court had posted the matter for January 15 to deliberate on the following issuing, however, the Case has not been taken up till now:
"Let this matter of engagement of Senior Advocate, their name being reflected in the cause list and right of a counsel to seek adjournment due to non-availability of a designated Senior Advocate, be addressed on the next date in terms of the provisions contained in the Advocates Act and the Rules and Regulations framed by Bar Council of India, so also U.P. State Bar Council"s
