Madhya Pradesh HC Becomes First Court In Country To Provide Online Certified Copies To Litigants

The Indore Bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court has become the first court in the country to provide online certified copies to advocates and litigants.
The software namely "Online Certified Copying Software" was launched by Chief Justice Ajay Kumar Mittal on Thursday in the presence of Justice SC Sharma, Chairman of Computer and e-Court Committee, Judges of the High Court and members of the Bar.
As per the press release issued in this behalf, litigant/counsels may make an online request to obtain certified copy. They will have an option to get the certified copy on Counter of Copying Section or at their home by postal mode or through Email. In case a litigant opts to receive the certified copy via email, he shall be required to pay nominal charges as per rules with the help of Net Banking/Debit or Credit Card.
The prominent features of the process is that now the Certified copy of Jabalpur and Gwalior can also be received at the counter of Copying Section of Indore Bench and vice versa.
The press release clarified that the current procedure of obtaining certified copies through Offline mode at shall continue as it is.
Considerably, all the benches of the high court already provide the facility to:
- track the Status of Copying Application filed at the counter of copying section through High Courts website;
- send the SMS related to registration of application for certified copy at counter;
- send the SMS on readiness/delivery of certified copies.
They also have the facility of:
- e-Paper Book whereby scanned images of Judicial case files are made available on the high court website in to account of enrolled Advocates within a week;
- e- Advocate General office whereby scanned images of Judicial case files are made available on high court website for use of AG Office; and
- e-Advocate office whereby the details of status of cases of respective enrolled advocates are provided.
