    A total of 24,36,270 cases were disposed of at the National Lok Adalat held in Karnataka on September 9 in various courts in the Yadgir district. 

    As per a press statement issued by the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA), among the disposed cases a total settlement amount of Rs 1,420 crores was achieved.

    Chief Justice Prasanna B. Varale, the Patron-in-Chief of KSLSA, Justice G. Narendra, Executive Chairman, KSLSA and Justice K. Somashekar, Chairman of the High Court Legal Services Committee, appreciated the efforts put in by the stakeholders for the success of the Lok Adalat.

    They expressed their gratitude for the cooperation extended by the Judicial Officers, Advocates, litigant public, insurance company officials, bank officials, Government Officials, Officers and Staff of the District Judiciary, Officers and staff of KSLSA, HCLSCs, DLSAs and TLSCs and also press and media.

    In the National Lok Adalat, a total of 1,305 matrimonial cases were settled and 255 couples were reunited due to conciliation. Further, a total of 2,806 partition suits were settled. A total of 3,303 cases under the Motor Vehicles Act were disposed of and the compensation amount awarded was to the tune of Rs 166 crores, whereas, a total of 767 MVC Execution cases were disposed of and the total settlement amount is Rs.48 crores.

    At the National Lok-Adalat, a total of 9,269 cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act were disposed of and settlement to the tune of Rs 373 crores was done. Similarly, a total of 430 LAC execution cases were disposed of and the total settlement amounted to Rs. 88 crores.

    Further, the press statement mentioned that under the other execution cases category, a total of 2,899 cases were settled and the settlement amount was Rs 103 crores. Cases Under RERA disposed of were 35 and Rs 7.60 crores is paid as compensation while 95 consumer cases were disposed of and the total award amount was Rs. 2 crores.
