    The Karnataka Government has allowed movement of advocates, their paralegal personnel/ clerks, and other support staff to their respective offices, only during court working days on producing ID card/authorization, during the lockdown. It has also permitted functioning of advocates/law firms offices, with 50 percent strength. The lockdown in the state is operational till June 7.

    As per the addendum issued today states that "In continuation of the orders of even number dated 21-05-2021 and 07-05 2021 and in exercise of powers conferred under Section 24 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Chairman, State Executive Committee, hereby issues an addendum to the revised guidelines to break the chain of COVID 19 transmission in the State."

    It states that Addition of sub-clause (i) to Clause 9 related to movement of individuals,

    • Sub-clause (i) "Movement of advocates, their paralegal personnel/ clerks, and other support staff to their respective offices is permitted only during court working days on producing ID card/authorization letter issued by the respective offices."

    B. Addition of sub-clause (n) to Clause 10 related to functioning of Commercial and Private establishments

    • Sub-clause (n) "Offices of Advocates/law firms are permitted to function with 50% of staff strength strictly adhering to COVID appropriate behaviour."
