The Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu And Puducherry Bar Councils today condemned the Alleged Murder of Additional District Judge (ADJ) of Dhanbad district, Uttam Anand, who was hit by a three-wheeled vehicle in broad daylight on Wednesday.

The Jharkhand Bar Council has also decided that tomorrow, the advocates of the entire state shall stay away from judicial works to show solidarity and demand that the culprits be subjected to the legal process.

"The Council unanimously condemned the murder and expressed serious concern at the deteriorating law and order situation. It has been decided that on 30th July, 2021, the advocates of the entire state shall stay away from judicial works to show solidarity and demand that the culprits be subjected to the legal process, necessary measures be urgently taken for the improvement of law and order situation and a strict law for the protection of the Advocates be urgently implemented," the resolution by Jharkhand State Bar Council states.

On the other hand, 'strongly condemning the brutal murder of Judge Uttam Anand', the Tamil Nadu And Puducherry Bar Council has issued a press release stating thus:

"If this kind of brutal murder is allowed to take place unabatedly, then this will be a challenge to the very existence of Judiciary and existence of rule of law and it will be like a direct threat to the Judiciary."

The Council has also called for the establishment of a Special Investigation Team and also Special Courts to deal with this kind of criminals.

Significantly, the Press release further states thus:

"The State Governments may ensure that this type of atrocious as against the Judges and Advocates have to be curtailed in the initial stage itself to safeguard the Judiciary and the Justice Delivery System. Further, sufficient protection is necessary to the Learned Judges and Advocates who are dealing with the sensational cases."

Judge Uttam Anand died soon after being hit by a three-wheeled vehicle in broad daylight on Wednesday. As seen in a surfaced CCTV footage, Mr. Anand was out on a morning walk when a vehicle 'deliberately hit' him near the Magistrate Colony in Dhanbad.

The CCTV footage of the incident showed the appearance of an unidentified man on a three-wheeler just before and after the incident. He is believed to be one of the conspirators to a suggested foul-play.
