District Courts/Tribunals In Uttar Pradesh To Hear Only Fresh Urgent Matters In Virtual Mode From April 28

Principal Secretary (Law) has been directed to take it up the State Government for ensuring proper testing and medical treatment of the Judicial officers, Court Staffs, and their family members.

The Allahabad High Court on Monday (April 26) issued modalities/ guidelines which would be applicable to all the Courts (Including Tribunals) subordinate to the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad with effect from April 28, 2021.

The Court/Tribunals subordinate to the High court shall take up only fresh urgent matters such as fresh Bail, Release, Recording of evidence under Section 164 CrPC and Remand.
Not more than 1 or 2 Judifical officers shall be assigned such matters by rotation/time by slot.
Such matter be taken up way of video conferencing/virtual modes in court premises or Residential office, as per the discretion fo District Judge/Principal Judge, Family Court, Presiding Officer, Commercial Court/Land acquisition, Rehab and Resettlement Authority/motor accident claims Tribunal.
The Remand/other misc. application moved by the under trial prisoner shall be done through Video Conference only.
Entry of Advocates/Litigants, Stamp vendors, Clerks, etc in the Court premises would be strictly restricted, till further orders.
The discussion has to be made with the office-bearer of the Bar Association for the revised mechanism/modalities of Courts.
District Judge/Principal Judge, Family Court, Presiding Officer, Commercial Court/Land acquisition, Rehab and Resettlement Authority/motor accident claims Tribunals shall ensure minimal entry of Court Staff in Court premises.
Importantly, Principal Secretary (Law) has been directed to take it up the State Government for ensuring proper testing and medical treatment of the Judicial officers, Court Staffs, and their family members.
Further, it has been directed to move to the State Government for appointing the nodal officers amongst the district authorities and a State Nodal Officer at the state level for necessary coordination to ensure proper testing and medical treatment of the Judicial officers, Court Staff, and their family members.
