DGFT Prohibits The Export Of Broken Rice

TheDirectorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT)has issued the notification by amending the Export Policy of Broken Rice from "free" to "prohibited" from September 9th, 2022.
The Central Government, empowered under the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-20, amended the Export Policy of broken rice against ITC (HS) code 1006 40 00 of Chapter 10 of Schedule 2 of the ITC (HS) Export Policy.
The provisions under Para 1.05 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-2020 regarding transitional arrangements shall not be applicable for the export of broken rice under HS code 1006 40 00.
During the period from September 9th, 2022, to September 15th, 2022, various consignments of broken rice will be allowed to be exported.
Firstly, where loading of broken rice on the ship had commenced before the notification, it will be allowed to be exported.
Secondly, where the shipping bill is filed and the vessels have already berthed or arrived and anchored in Indian ports and their rotation number has been allocated before the notification, they will be allowed to be exported. The approval of loading in vessels will be issued only after confirmation by the concerned port authorities regarding anchoring/berthing of the ship for loading of broken rice prior to the notification.
Thirdly, where a broken rice consignment has been handed over to the Customs before the notification and is registered in the system, it will be allowed to be exported.
