The Delhi High Court has issued notice on a lawyer's petition, claiming that despite being fully vaccinated, he has not been issued a proper certificate in that regard. Rather, the official Cowin portal reflects him to be a 'partially vaccinated' person.
Justice Rekha Palli has issued notice to the Health Ministry and has posted the matter for hearing on September 27, 2021.
Advocate Visheshwar Srivastava, a practicing advocate at the Delhi High Court, sought requisite certificate of COVID-19 vaccination. His case is that both he and his wife got the first dose of Covisheild vaccine at Max Hospital Saket. However, whereas his wife got the correct certificate, he got a certificate showing the administration of Covaxin at Bensup Hospital in Dwarka.
On contacting the helpline number available on the COWIN portal, he was redirected to a prescribed email address. However, even after making a complaint on the said e-mail address, there was no avail, he claims.
After the expiry of the prescribed 28 days, the petitioner submits that he and his wife went for the second dose at Max Hospital. While his wife got the Final Vaccination Certificate showing that she had been administered two doses of Covisheild vaccine, the petitions certificate of final vaccination was not given. He is shown as 'partially vaccinated' at the Cowin portal, saying his second dose of Covisheild is due, he petition mentions.
"Counter affidavit, if any, be filed within ten days. Rejoinder thereto be filed within one week thereafter," the Court ordered.
