The Delhi High Court on Thursday issued notice on a public interest litigation seeking legal or departmental enquiry against those persons who are fraudulently using printouts with the word 'Judge' pasted on their vehicles.
The Division Bench comprising of Acting Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Navin Chawla directed the Respondent, High Court administration, to file its reply within 4 weeks, specifically dealing with instances which the Petitioner has pointed out with regard to alleged infringement of guidelines.
The Bench also orally directed the Respondents, represented by Anurag Ahluwalia, to take apposite steps if the alleged violations are found to be true.
The Court was hearing a plea moved by Advocate Sanser Pal Singh, alleging that the fraudulent use of such printouts and stickers is a security threat as such vehicles are not stopped for frisking by the security staff.
The plea also seeks action against judicial officers of Delhi District courts who had obtained judge vehicle parking sticker violating the 2018 guidelines. It also seeks direction that all such judicial officers obtain and use judge vehicle parking sticker complying with the said guidelines.
"The Petitioner has no other alternative but to knock the doors of this Hon'ble Court for issuance of guidelines to be passed to all judicial officers of Delhi courts subordinate to this hon'ble court to obtain judge vehicle parking sticker only by complying guidelines contained in circular dated 11.09.2018 issued by office of respondent no. 2 if they wish to obtain it," the plea adds.
The matter will next be taken up on 18 November.
