The Delhi High Court on Thursday granted interim bail for a period of ten days to the accused in an Arms Act case to allow him arrange money for paying daughter's admission fee for LLB Course.
Justice Talwant Singh said the interim bail shall not be extended under any circumstances and the petitioner Nihal Ahmed shall surrender once the period of ten days is over.
"Keeping in view the fact that the petitioner has to make arrangements for making payment of admission fees of his daughter and that the family should not suffer for his acts, I am inclined to grant him interim bail for a period of ten days from the date of his release, on execution of personal bond of Rs.25,000/- with one surety of the like amount to the satisfaction of the concerned court," said the court.
Ahmed had approached seeking interim bail in a 2011 FIR registered under Sections 452/325/506/34 IPC & under Section 25/27/54/59 Arms Act at Gandhi Nagar police station. A chargesheet has already been filed in the case.
Opposing the plea, the prosecution submitted that he had been declared a proclaimed offender in the case and thereafter, he was arrested. The prosecution also said that he was involved in another case also.
The counsel representing the accused submitted that the last date for payment of admission fees for LLB course to be pursued by his daughter is November 15. "The petitioner has to make arrangements for making payment of admission fees as he is in judicial custody for the last about 9 months," advocate Rajni Kant told the court.
