    A Delhi Court on Wednesday sought response of the Delhi Police on a plea moved by women wrestlers for a court-monitored investigation in connection with sexual harassment case registered against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

    Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Harjeet Singh Jaspal of Rouse Avenue Courts issued notice on the plea which has been filed under section 156 of Code of Criminal Procedure.

    The plea seeks a court monitored investigation and other related reliefs, including a report on the action taken by Police in the matter.

    The court has listed the case for hearing on May 12. The wrestlers are represented by Advocates Anindya Malhotra, Shaurya Lamba.

    Delhi Police has registered two FIRs in the Connaught Place police station against Singh. One FIR was registered under various offences under Indian Penal Code, 1860 whereas the other FIR was registered under the POCSO Act.

    The FIR under the POCSO Act has been registered on sexual harassment allegations of a minor wrestler. The second FIR is based on the complaints of other women wrestlers.

    Recently, the Supreme Court closed the petition moved by three women wrestlers taking note of the fact that FIRs have been registered by the Delhi Police against Singh over alleged sexual harassment.
