A Delhi Court on Wednesday sent an accused to one day police custody while four others to 14 days judicial custody in the case concerning alleged vandalism at AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi's residence.
Metropolitan Magistrate Amardeep Kaur pronounced the order after the Delhi Police arrested five persons, who are also the members of Hindu Sena outfit, in the matter.
While accused Lalit was sent to one day police custody, other accused persons including Shivam, Sachin and others were sent to judicial custody.
Qua the custody of Lalit, the police had argued that his custodial interrogation was necessary for the purpose of recovery of weapon as also to unearth the alleged conspiracy into the case.
The Delhi Police had registered an FIR under sec. 427 and 188 of the Indian Penal Code, and other provisions of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
The case against the five men arrested is that they had allegedly damaged the entrance, nameplate, lights and windows while vandalising Owaisi's house.
