Delhi Court Frames Charges In Three Riots Cases For Rioting, Unlawful Assembly

A Delhi Court has framed charges against a total of seven men for the offences of rioting, unlawful assembly and other relevant provisions of IPC in three different cases related to the North East Delhi riots that rocked the national capital last year.
Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Yadav framed charges against accused persons namely Imram @ Model, Imran, Dinesh Yadav @ Michel, Babu @ Sahil, Sandeep @ Mogli Tinku and Sandeep Bhati.
The Court framed charges against Sandeep Bhati in FIR 98/2020 under sec. 147, 148, 149, 427, 436, 380, 454, 307, 392, 394 and 188 of IPC. It was alleged that Bhati had caused gunshot injuries to one Shahrukh merely due to the fact that he belonged to a different Community.
In FIR 63/2020, charges were framed against Imran @Model and Imran 147, 148, 149, 152, 186, 332, 353, 307, 120B and 34 of IPC. It was alleged that the two had obstructed public servants in discharge of their duties of controlling riots and causing grievous injuries to one by gunshot firing.
In the third FIR 106/2020, charges were framed against other for arson, criminal trespass, theft and vandalising shop and house belonging to the complainant, Illiyas.
Recently, the judge had framed charges against one Noor Mohammad of rioting, being member of an unlawful assembly and other offences in connection with three Delhi riots cases.
The same judge had, while framing charges against one Rohit in another case, that even though the investigation in the matter appears to be highly callous and inefficient, however, the statements of victims cannot be ignored by the Court.
