[Covid-19] Functioning Of Allahabad HC Suspended Till July 17; Rajasthan HC To Resume Functioning From July 20 [Read Orders]

The High Courts of Allahabad and Rajasthan have been closed temporarily, due to Covid scare.
Allahabad
The Administrative Committee of the Allahabad High Court has decided that the functioning at Principal Seat of the High Court will remain suspended for further two days, i.e. July 16 and 17.
Earlier, the High Court was declared closed on July 14 and July 15, 2020 in view of the "rapid increase" in the number of Covid cases in the city of Prayagraj.
Through an administrative order issued by Chief Justice Govind Mathur it is intimated that there shall be no sitting of Courts on the 16th and 17th of July 2020, in the High Court at Allahabad, only.
The list of cases to be taken up on 16th & 17th July 2020 shall be taken up on 20th & 21st of July 2020, respectively. The matters fixed for 20th and 21st of July 2020 shall be taken up on 23rd and 24th of July 2020, respectively.
Further, there shall be no physical/e-filing on 16th, 17th and 18th of July 2020.
Rajasthan
Functioning of both the benches of the Rajasthan High Court has been suspended till July 19, 2020, as a few members of the court staff, both at Jodhpur as well as in Jaipur have tested positive for Covid-19.
The High Court has intimated that sampling of remaining court staff and Advocates in in progress and shall be concluded by July 19. Therefore, the High Court shall resume functioning from July 20, 2020, on the following terms:
- Hearing of the matters shall be permitted both through physical appearance and video conferencing. In a case, hearing may be conducted simultaneously through physical appearance and video conferencing, Advocates or parties-in-person opting for video conferencing would intimate the Court Master concerned at least one day in advance.
- There will be no separate time slot for hearing of cases through video conferencing. Such cases would be taken up as per their turn in the cause list. Advocates/Parties-in-person would remain ready for video conferencing well in advance according to the Display Board.
Functioning at the Jodhpur bench of the High Court has remained suspended since July 9, 2020. The Jaipur Seat of the High Court was declared closed from July 13, 2020.
