President Accepts Resignation Of Justice Sharad Kumar Gupta Of Chhattisgarh High Court

The President has accepted resignation tendered by Justice Sharad Kumar Gupta of the Chhattisgarh High Court.
The notification to the above effect, issued by the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justices says:
"Shri Justice Sharad Kumar Gupta has tendered his resignation from the office of Judge, Chhattisgarh High Court, in pursuance of proviso (a) to clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution, with effect from 31" March, 2021 afternoon."
As per a letter addressed by Justice Gupta to the President of India last month, he intends to relinquish his office to take up a new assignment of the State Government.
The letter stated,
"I am inclined to relinquish my office from 31st of March 2021 since I have already given my consent to the State Government of Chhattisgarh for new assignment. Therefore, I respectfully pray that my resignation may kindly be accepted from 31st of March 2021 afternoon."
Justice Gupta obtained his degree in Law from the Jivaji University. He entered Judicial Services in the year 1985 and served in various capacities at different places as a Judicial Officer.
He has been Legal Advisor EOW, District & Session Judge, Special Judge, Principal Judge Family Court, Legal Advisor to His Excellency Governor of Chhattisgarh.
He was elevated as an Additional Judge of High Court of Chhattisgarh on 27th June 2017 and was made a Permanent Judge on September 2, 2019.
