Centre Notifies Appointment Of 5 Additional Judges To Punjab And Haryana High Court

The Central government today notified the appointment of five additional judges to the Punjab & Haryana High Court.

They are as listed below:

1) Vikas Suri, Advocate

2) Sandeep Moudgil, Advocate

3) Vinod Sharma (Bhardwaj), Advocate

4) Pankaj Jain, Advocate

5) Jasjit Singh Bedi, Advocate

A notification issued in this regard states thus:

"In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri (i) Vikas Suri, (ii) Sandeep Moudgil, (iii) Vinod Sharma (Bhardwaj), (iv) Pankaj Jain and (v) Jasjit Singh Bedi, to be Additional Judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, in that order of seniority, for a period of two years with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices."

The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 1 st September, 2021 had approved the proposal for elevation of the following Advocates as Judges in the Punjab & Haryana High Court:

1. Shri Vikas Suri,

2. Shri Vinod Sharma (Bhardwaj),

3. Shri Pankaj Jain, and

4. Shri Jasjit Singh Bedi
