Calcutta High Court Extends All Interim Orders Passed By It & Courts Subordinate To It Till August 20 (Read Order)

Pursuant to the suo moto case registered last year, the full bench of Calcutta High Court on Friday extended the life of all interim orders passed by the High Court and courts subordinate to it, including the Tribunals till August 20 in light of the Covid-19 situation in West Bengal.
The extension has been granted by a full bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal, Justice I.P. Mukerji, Justice Harish Tandon, Justice Soumen Sen and Justice Subrata Talukdar.
The order was passed in view of the extension of lockdown restrictions imposed by the West Bengal government till July 30.
"In view of the extension of restrictions relating to the Covid-19 pandemic by the Government of West Bengal, we extend the interim orders passed in this Writ Petition till August 20, 2021", the order read.
The interim orders were last extended by the Court till July 20.
It has also been directed by the Court that the order must be published on the official website of the Court and also communicated to all subordinate Courts and Tribunals, learned Advocate General, learned Additional Solicitor General and the Presidents and Secretaries of the three wings of the Bar of this Court to facilitate circulation among lawyers, litigants and other interested parties.
The matter is listed for further consideration by the Court on August 13.
