    The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has appointed Dr.Venkatesh as Nodal Officer to provide all required medical assistance/arrangements to advocates and their family members infected with Covid-19.

    President of the Advocates Association of Bengaluru, A P Ranganatha said "​On the request of the Advocates Association Bengaluru, the High Court convened a Virtual Meeting on Saturday, which was chaired by Chief Justice Abhay Oka and Senior Judges of the court, Advocate General, Additional Solicitor General of India, The Chairman of KSBC and Office bearers of Advocates Association Bengaluru."

    He added "The Chief Justice directed the State Government to appoint a NODAL OFFICER immediately for Bengaluru Advocates. The NODAL officer shall have to monitor & make arrangements to get the COVID-19 infected/suffering Advocates & their family members (who are need of hospitalization) hospitalized and make allotment of beds (in case of emergency) to provide Oxygen, Ventilators, ICU beds etc. It also directed the President of Advocates Association Bengaluru to form a Committee to coordinate with the NODAL officer in relation to taking care of the Covid-19 patients."

    During the meeting AAB also suggested that Vakeelara Bhavana building can be converted as Covid-19 Center to treat the needy Advocates & their families. Accordingly, the Chief Justice directed the State Government to verify and report whether it can provide all the required infrastructure, doctors and staff to use the Vakeelara Bhavana, as Covid-19 Centre for suffering Advocates & their families. On Monday, a team of BBMP health department officials and officials from the court registry, inspected the premises.
